In order to avoid spiritual traps, our Pastor Dr. GreGory advised us that we need to be vigilant in our prayer life, and surround ourselves with positive people and influences.
We also need to be careful about the information we take in. Not everything we listen to, read or hear is true and we should really look at the deeper meaning of the messages we are receiving. Some things can be very harmful to our spiritual well-being. If we are aware of the dangers of spiritual traps, we can avoid them and live a life that is pleasing to God.
Spiritual traps can be very subtle and difficult to detect. They may come disguised as something good or harmless. These traps can also lead us to make bad choices, to hurt others, and to lose our connection with God. It is important to be aware of the dangers of spiritual traps and to take steps to protect ourselves from them. We can also help one another by sharing our knowledge and experience.
Here are some scriptures to help:
Matthew 24:4-5: "And Jesus answered and said to them, 'See that no one leads you astray. For many will come in My name, saying, 'I am the Christ,' and will lead many astray."
1 Peter 5:8: "Be sober-minded; be alert. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour."
Ephesians 4:27: "Do not give the devil an opportunity."
James 1:14-15: "But each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire. Then desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin, and sin when it is fully grown brings forth death."
1 Corinthians 10:12: "So, if anyone thinks he stands, let him take heed lest he fall."
Sharing those traps is vital! If we continue to let the traps be silent, they become even more dangerous.
