Are You Good… or Godly?

Don’t Get Comfortable
One of the strongest warnings from Sunday’s message came through the story of Uzza. He didn’t fall because he was evil, he fell because he got comfortable around something God called holy. Familiarity turned into carelessness, and carelessness turned into disobedience.
Dr. GreGory reminded us: Don’t get casual with what God calls holy. The presence of God must stay precious, not familiar.
Wrong Cart, Wrong Pattern
Israel placed the ark on a “new cart” because they copied the Philistines’ method. And Pastor made it clear, this is what happens when the world starts shaping the church instead of the church shaping the world.
Holiness still matters. Reverence still matters. We’re not entertainers, we’re carriers of His presence. We cannot move God on worldly carts and still expect glory.
Necessary Removal
Sometimes God removes a desire, a habit, or even a person not to punish us but to protect us. Pastor compared it to a surgeon who removes a limb to save the body.
Elimination is often revelation—God showing us what cannot go with us into the next season or into eternity. The right response? “Search me, Lord.”
The Tradition Trap
Traditions are meaningful, but they can quickly become cages. Dr. GreGory said we can turn tradition into doctrine and doctrine into a prison. God is still moving, still speaking, still birthing new things. We cannot cling to what God has already moved beyond.
Faithful > Flashy
Your shine should never outpace your surrender. God isn’t impressed by image—He’s after integrity. A split life produces split disciples. People follow the life you actually live, not the one you pretend to have. God is calling us to live aligned, consistent, and holy.
Jealousy Exposed
Pastor revealed that jealousy isn’t just a feeling—it’s a spiritual posture. Jealousy quietly says, “God, You blessed the wrong person.” True admiration doesn’t chase style, spotlight, or personality. Biblical admiration follows character, surrender, and holiness.
Holy > Good
The world teaches us to admire image. God teaches us to pursue holiness.
Good inspires, but holy delivers. We weren’t called to just be good examples—we were called to be godly ones.
