From the sermon “Don’t Let Your Seed Get Plucked Up” by Dr. GreGory Wendell
There are moments in life where everything feels calm… nothing seems wrong… and yet, something is quietly shifting beneath the surface.
That’s where this message meets us.
Because what we’re dealing with isn’t always obvious—it’s not just life… it’s spiritual.
Jesus showed us that while we’re resting, drifting, or just going through the motions, the enemy looks for access—not to destroy everything at once, but to plant something right next to what God is growing.
And the truth is… it won’t always look wrong.
It may come through a conversation, a relationship, or even a well-meaning suggestion. But if we’re not paying attention, we can end up nurturing something God never planted.
That’s why discernment matters.
Not everything growing in your life belongs there.
Not every thought came from God.
And not every opportunity is meant to be pursued.
But here’s the encouragement—God is waking you up.
He’s restoring your awareness.
He’s sharpening your spirit.
And He’s helping you see what may have gone unnoticed before.
Because what you catch now… you don’t have to fight later.
And as you move forward, there’s another question to consider:
You’re not just guarding what was planted…
You’re also planting something new.
Every decision, every response, every choice—it’s all seed.
And the good news is… God has already placed something valuable inside of you.
You’re protected.
You’re covered.
And what hasn’t opened yet is not empty—it’s preserved for the right time.
So as you step into this week…
What are you allowing to grow… and what are you choosing to plant on purpose?
