Your Quit Starts Now

Freedom begins with a decision, not emotion, not willpower, but a deliberate yes to God. Dr. GreGory’s sermon, “Start Your Quit,” challenged us to stop circling the same mountain of excuses and make the choice that heaven has been waiting on.

When God Changes Your Style

When you truly walk with God, He changes your style inside and out. It’s not about fashion or appearance; it’s about humility, character, and a spirit that reflects holiness. God beautifies the meek, and sometimes that beauty shows up in how you carry yourself, not in what you wear. God refines us until our lives mirror His image rather than the world’s trends.

Freedom Begins With a Decision

Dr. Gregory declared, “Freedom doesn’t start with change, it starts with choice.” He taught that a decision is when your spirit speaks before your feelings catch up. Deliverance is not a feeling; it’s a posture. When you decide, “It stops here,” your life begins to rearrange itself to match what your mouth just declared. That’s why the Lord said, “Choose ye this day whom you will serve” (Joshua 24:15). Stop saying, “I’m trying.” Instead, speak faith: “I’ve started my quit.” When you put your decision in motion, heaven moves with you.

Break the Pride Before the Blessing

“Maybe that dream you have,” Pastor said, “can’t rise until your pride breaks.” God is not against your vision—but He’s after your surrender. Pride will keep you clinging to control, while humility says, “Nevertheless.” When you release your will, God raises your dream higher than you could ever imagine.

Close the Access

Freedom also means shutting down what used to feed your bondage. When you make a choice, you shut the doors, you close the windows, and if necessary, you change the locks. To start your quit means you stop giving your past access to your present.

The church declared together: “I’m out of unbelief. I’m out of jealousy. I’m out of bitterness. I’m out of fear.” That simple declaration realigns the heart, speak those things as though they were, your life will catch up with your words.”

Restore—Don’t Rescue

In one of the most convicting parts of the message, Dr. GreGory warned us not to confuse rescuing with restoring. “Some people have to want restoration,” he said. “When they truly change, you’ll feel it in your spirit.” Real restoration doesn’t come from pressure, it comes from a contrite heart returning to God. Instead of stepping in to rescue someone and causing them to act out of obligation, allow them to sit with who they are until genuine change takes root from within.

Keep Your Fire Lit

“Don’t let your fire go out.” A lukewarm church is one of the signs of the times, and Jesus is coming back for a church without spot or wrinkle. The power of Pentecost—the shout, the fervor, the yes, Lord—isn’t outdated. It’s essential. The Israelites didn’t stay stuck because Pharaoh was strong or Moses was weak. They stayed stuck because they never started their quit internally. Their bodies left Egypt, but their hearts never did. Don’t just talk about quitting, start your quit.”
