This Sunday was one we will never forget. Sister Kerry opened service with “I’ll Be Satisfied” and the reminder that “anything can happen in here.” The atmosphere was filled with expectation. And when Dr. GreGory stepped forward, the very first words he declared were: “It is well.”
None of us realized just how prophetic those words would be. Moments later, a member fell ill right in the middle of worship. But instead of quickly moving her out, Pastor stopped everything. He called the entire church into unity, and together we lifted our voices in prayer. What the enemy tried to use for disruption turned into a demonstration of God’s healing power.
Peace in the Midst of Trouble
Like the Shunammite woman in 2 Kings 4:26, Pastor’s declaration reminded us that peace doesn’t come from circumstances—it comes from knowing God is with us. In that moment of crisis, “It is well” became more than words. It became a covering.
Cedar: A Symbol of Long Life
Pastor shared that when he woke up that morning, the word “Cedar” dropped into his spirit. He later explained how the cedar tree represents strength, stability, and longevity. Just as the cedar stands tall and endures through every season, God desires that His people flourish and live long, fruitful lives (Psalm 92:12). The word wasn’t just a theme—it was a prophetic reminder that God has ordained life, health, and endurance for His children.
God’s Perfect Timing and the Power of Unity
When a member suddenly fell ill in the middle of service, what could have brought fear instead became an opportunity for God to reveal Himself. Right at that moment, we saw His on-time presence. Psalm 46:1 reminds us that He is “a very present help in trouble.” We didn’t have to wait for Him—He was already there.
Dr. GreGory declared it boldly: “The devil tried it, but God defeated it.” The enemy’s plan to sow fear failed because God’s power was greater (Colossians 2:15). What could have shaken the room instead became a testimony of God’s victory.
That victory was revealed through the unity of the church. When we came together in one accord, interceding as one body, healing and strength began to flow. Just like Acts 2, unity invited the miraculous into the room.
And through it all, the cry of the sanctuary was “the blood of Jesus.” Covering, healing, and deliverance are still found in His blood. Revelation 12:11 reminds us that we overcome by the blood of the Lamb—and Sunday was living proof.
Obedience Opens the Door
Later Pastor reflected, “What if I hadn’t stopped? What if I hadn’t obeyed?” That moment of obedience to God’s Spirit created the space for healing. 1 Samuel 15:22 reminds us that obedience is better than sacrifice—and Sunday proved how true that is.
It was also a reminder that church is more than songs and sermons. It’s the place where God reveals His power. From the opening song to the final prayer, we witnessed that anything can happen when He is in the midst. Peace was spoken, healing was released, unity was displayed, and victory was declared.
So as you walk through this week, remember: It is well, God is on time, the blood still works, and obedience keeps the door open for miracles.
