A Heart That Bows

From the sermon A Heart That Bows, Dr. GreGory reminded us that worship begins long before the music starts—it begins when the heart bows.

Bowing isn’t weakness. It’s acknowledgment. It’s saying, “You reign. I surrender.” And when the will hasn’t bowed, true worship hasn’t begun.

This message challenged us to look honestly at how we approach God. Are we worshiping—or just observing? Are we surrendered—or simply consistent? Because casual faith slowly erodes reverence, and small compromises quietly shape the heart.

We were reminded that bowing shows who we serve. What we yield to directs our obedience. And when we bow to God—not out of fear, but faith—we’re not losing control. We’re building a foundation strong enough to hold whatever comes next.

God doesn’t ask us to bow so He can take from us. He asks us to bow so He can support us.
