What Are You Standing On?

When life starts shaking, stay on the Rock. There are seasons when everything around us seems uncertain. Plans change. People change. Answers do not come as quickly as we hoped. Sometimes we feel like we are doing all we can, but the storm still finds its way to our door.
But God’s Word reminds us that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
That means His mercy has not run out. His promises have not expired. His love has not shifted because life got hard. He is still God in the waiting, still God in the storm, and still God when we cannot see how things will work out.
In this sermon Dr. GreGory reminded us not to rush what God is growing. A seed does not become an orchard overnight. Roots have to grow before flowers can bloom. So keep praying. Keep trusting. Keep tending to your relationship with God. Do not let frustration push you into decisions that patience would have prevented.
And when trouble comes, remember that Jesus said the wise person builds on the rock. Rain may fall. Winds may blow. But a life built on Christ will not fall apart.
Today, take a breath. Put your worries in God’s hands. Then ask yourself: What does it look like for me to stay on the Rock in my everyday walk with God?
