In the Bible, Jesus tells us that we should "seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you" (Matthew 6:33). This means that if we put God first in our lives, He will take care of our needs.
In Dr. Gregory's message Sunday, he warned us of the things that may try to lure us away from God by tempting us with sin or by sowing discord in our relationships. He cautioned us to be aware of how the devil is always trying to get in our way and to lead us astray. One of the ways he does this is by casting spells on us. These spells can be subtle, but they can still have a powerful effect on our minds and spirits.
Pastor taught us if we want to protect ourselves from the non-venomous snakes in our lives, we need to be discerning. We need to be aware of the dangers and we need to be willing to stand up for what we believe. We also need to be careful of the company we keep, both online and in person.
Here are some of the things that Dr. Gregory warned us about:
Music: There are many songs that are designed to manipulate our emotions and to lead us away from God. These songs often have lyrics that are sexually suggestive, violent, or angry. They can also have a hypnotic effect on us, making us more susceptible to their influence.
Online videos: There are many online videos that are designed to shock, offend, or manipulate us. These videos often contain graphic violence, pornography, or occult imagery. They can also be used to spread false information or to promote harmful ideas.
Social media: Social media can be a great way to connect with friends and family, but it can also be a source of temptation and division. We need to be careful about the things we click on, the things we post, and the people we follow.
People: We need to be careful about the people we trust, the advice we take, the people we do things, and the invitations we accept. They may be our friends, family members, or associates that are non-venomous snakes.
If we follow these tips, we can protect ourselves and stay on the path that God has for us.
