How To Let God Take The Wheel

Breakthroughs. We all want them. We all need them. But sometimes, we can get so caught up in the process of seeking a breakthrough that we miss it when it's happening right in front of us.

In his Sunday sermon, Dr. GreGory shared that God told him to stop seeking a message, but instead to seek direction. He said that we often miss what God is already doing because we are so focused on a specific order of events, like 1, 2, 3, 4. But God wants to start your breakthrough from unexpected patterns.

This is a powerful message. It's reminding us that God is always working in our lives. He's always leading us, even when we don't know where we're going. And if we're willing to let him take the wheel, he'll lead us to our breakthroughs.

How to let God take the wheel:

  • Be humble. Scripture: 1 Peter 5:6 "Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God, so that at the proper time he may exalt you."

  • Be willing to surrender. Scripture:Matthew 16:24 "Then Jesus said to his disciples, 'Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.'"

  • Be patient. Scripture: Hebrews 10:35-36 "Therefore do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God, you may receive what is promised."

  • Be obedient. Scripture: Joshua 1:9 "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go."

No matter what kind of breakthrough you're seeking, God can help you achieve it. Trust him, follow him, and let him take the wheel.

A few weeks ago my car wheels were unbalanced. When trying to drive a straight path on the highway the car would pull or steer in another direction. This reminds me of how life can be if Jesus is not in control, and we don’t rely completely on his divine intervention. We are steered down an unnecessary path in a direction not meant for our good. When we allow Jesus to completely take the wheel, and allow him to guide us, he’ll lead us in the in the right direction to our breakthroughs. He will never steer your wheel in the wrong direction!
