Give God’s Goodness a Voice

Dr. GreGory Wendell asked a powerful question during Sunday’s message: Can you translate what God has done for you into sound?
The question is not whether a person can sing, preach, or play an instrument. It is whether gratitude can find a way out of the heart.
The message began with the story behind the jazz composition Misty. During a turbulent flight, pianist Errol Garner could not clearly see through the mist covering the airplane windows. But through that mist, he caught a glimpse of a rainbow. While another passenger focused on the turbulence, Garner began tapping his fingers, turning what he saw into music.
He translated light into sound.
Life can feel a lot like that flight when God give us reminders that He is still present. It may come through an answered prayer, an encouraging phone call, unexpected provision, a moment of peace, or simply the strength to get through another day.
We can allow gratitude to remain a quiet thought, or we can give it a response. Sometimes that response is a spoken “Thank You, Jesus.” Sometimes it is a testimony, a song, a lifted hand, a changed attitude, or a decision to obey what God has been saying.
The message also reminded us that hearing the Word on Sunday is only the beginning. God is still speaking through His Word, His creation, His mercy, and the quiet reminders of His faithfulness. May His goodness find a voice through the way we worship, the way we live, and the choices we make.
