Get Out of God’s Way

Dr. GreGory Wendell’s message, “Get Out of My Way,” was a loving but direct reminder that sometimes the biggest thing standing between us and what God wants to do is not the enemy, another person, or a closed door. Sometimes, it is us.

In 2 Chronicles 20, God told His people that the battle was not theirs, but His. He did not tell them to panic, run, fight, or create the perfect strategy. He told them to get in position, stand still, and watch Him work. That speaks to everyday life.

When the bills are due, the relationship feels uncertain, the job situation is stressful, or the future is unclear, it is easy to start trying to fix everything ourselves. We overthink, rush, compare, make backup plans, and wear ourselves out trying to control what only God can change.

But getting out of God’s way does not mean becoming passive. It means doing our part with obedience while releasing the part that belongs to Him.

Maybe God is asking you to move fear out of the way. Maybe it is your need to understand every detail, your own timeline, disappointment from the past, or the pressure to keep up with what you see online. God does not need our permission to be God. He is simply asking for our yes.

There are things He can do in your life that no amount of striving, worrying, or trying to prove yourself can accomplish. Your assignment is to stay surrendered, stay obedient, and make room for His hand to move.
