From Trauma to Trust: What Happens After "What Happened to Me?"

Based on Luke 8:45–46 | Numbers 15:30–41 | Proverbs 4:23

This past Sunday, Prophet GreGory challenged us to stop waiting and start reaching. The verdict has already been issued in Heaven, and it’s in your favor. As Pastor said, “The verdict is good—God is going to make you laugh.” That joy you thought was lost? It’s returning. That season the enemy tried to steal? God is restoring the years the cankerworm ate. But the key to unlocking that restoration isn’t just surviving—it’s believing again.

Who Touched Me?

In Luke 8, we see a woman who pressed through the crowd to touch the hem of Jesus’ garment. She didn’t have a formal invitation. She didn’t ask for permission. She reached. And that reach wasn’t random—her reach had worship in it.

Her condition wasn’t just physical—it was emotional, mental, and spiritual. She had been labeled, shamed, isolated. But her silent suffering ended the moment she took action. Jesus turned and asked, “Who touched me?” Not because He didn’t know—but because He wanted everyone to witness her faith in motion. "Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him." — Job 13:15. Her trust was the loudest sound around Jesus—even though she said nothing. Her faith was so powerful it shifted the atmosphere. And yours can too.

Healing Is More Than Physical

Prophet GreGory reminded us that trauma doesn’t just disappear—it hides in the cracks of the mind. And when it's not addressed, it can distort your view of everyday life. Your brain begins reacting to normal things as if they’re threats. Instead of asking, “What's wrong with me?”— healing begins when we ask, “What happened to me?”

Here’s what Pastor said we must do after asking that question:

  • Confront your trauma. Don't bury it—bring it into the light so God can heal it. Trauma left unchecked tries to build strongholds in your mind.

  • Watch your words. What you speak becomes the atmosphere you create. Be mindful of what you bring into a room—you carry something when you walk in.

  • Slow down. Healing requires intention. You can’t rush past what God is trying to reveal.

  • Guard your thoughts. Every thought isn’t yours. Some thoughts are planted by the enemy to infect your identity. Learn to recognize what didn’t come from God.

  • Speak up. Just like the woman with the issue of blood, your breakthrough might require your voice. Silence isn't always holy—when it comes from bitterness or fear, it breeds darkness.

  • Let God rewire you. Healing doesn’t just restore—it rewires. You’ve been made whole, but now it’s time to live like it.

Get to God

Dr. Gregory posed a tough but necessary question: Who do you need to bypass to get to Jesus? Sometimes we have to break rank, come low, press through noise, shame, pride, or people’s opinions. Healing doesn’t come from a crowd. It comes from contact. This scripture says, “Don’t forsake the assembling of yourselves…” (Hebrews 10:25)

Church isn’t just a building—it’s a refueling station. Week after week, it’s where we hear from Heaven and get clarity on where God is leading us. It’s where our spirits are recalibrated and our purpose is confirmed. The enemy would love to isolate you, but staying planted in the house of God keeps your healing fresh and your direction clear. You can't stay healed and stay distant. There is power in being part of the body. When we stay connected, we stay covered, corrected, and commissioned into purpose.

Which one do you need to press through right now to get closer to God?

  • People’s opinions.

  • Internal doubt.

  • Past trauma.

  • Distractions.
