Don’t Let the Memory Fade

Holy Communion service reminded us that Jesus said, “Do this in remembrance of me.”
But remembering Jesus is more than recalling what happened at the cross. It is allowing His sacrifice to awaken something within us.
When we remember the crown, the stripes, the nails, and the blood He shed, gratitude should rise in our hearts. When we remember that He rose again, we are reminded that we have hope, eternal life, and power through the Holy Spirit.
That remembrance should follow us into everyday life.
It should affect how we handle frustration, how we respond to temptation, and how confidently we face our problems. It should move us to worship when we are tired, study when we would rather be distracted, and share our faith when someone needs hope.
Sometimes we give our greatest energy to work, responsibilities, errands, and entertainment, then offer God whatever we have left. But Jesus gave His whole life for us. Our response should be more than a few quiet moments on Sunday.
This week, pause and remember what the Lord has done for you. Turn your thanksgiving into words. Open your Bible. Encourage someone. Let your life become an expression of gratitude.
Communion may end, but remembrance should continue.
