Becoming What We've Heard

From the sermon Becoming What We’ve Heard by Dr. GreGory.
This week wasn’t just about reviewing messages — it was about asking ourselves: Are we actually becoming what we’ve heard?
At the beginning of the year, we were reminded: You are light. Light doesn’t compete with darkness. It overpowers it. That means you don’t have to match energy, argue, or defend yourself constantly. Just shine.
Then came the wilderness. We learned it wasn’t punishment — it was root work. God grows roots before He grows fruit. Some of what felt hidden was actually strengthening you.
We talked about bowing quickly — because delayed obedience can cost you more than saying yes the first time. Surrender isn’t weakness. It’s positioning.
And then came the invisible guest. Agreement gives permission. What we entertain eventually governs us. Willpower gets tired — but God’s Word introduces a higher law.
So now the question is simple:
Are we just hearing…or are we becoming?
Reflect:
What would change this week if you fully became what you already know?
