Question of the Week

How do you handle an uninvited guest at the family feast?

  • Set another plate! Everyone deserves a warm meal.

  • Polite but firm decline. Boundaries are important.

  • It depends. Not all guests are created equal.

I agree this can be difficult to answer. On one hand I would agree you have to examine the how and why, but on the other hand it is important to set boundaries. Let your yea be yea and your nay be nay. I am very particular who I feast with. The table might be spread but sometimes not everyone is at the table with the same intentions. Ask God for discernment to know what's best.

Wow !!! This is difficult to answer. Did they show up because they were alone and they knew you would welcome them? I would differently pull them aside and ask why they showed up unannounced. The answer to my question would make a difference between dinner or the door.
