More Than a Mood: Cultivating a Spirit-Filled Life

Don't let your mood make you miss your blessing. In Dr. GreGory's sermon titled "Living Water," we were reminded of Jesus' beautiful promise in John 4:14: "Whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life."

This living water is not a physical drink but the Holy Spirit, a gift freely offered to all who believe. It's an invitation from Jesus to come and be filled, to let go of the distractions that leave us spiritually dry, and to embrace the fullness of life that He offers.

Quenching Our Thirst

Often, we fill our lives with pursuits that take us away from God's presence. We have to be mindful to bring every thought captive because holiness is still right. We chase after success, relationships, and even good deeds, but if these are not rooted in Christ, they eventually leave us empty.

Pastor stated "Don't come to the well without a cup".  When we make space for the Holy Spirit, we find that our lives are not just sustained but transformed. Our faith grows stronger, our purpose becomes clearer, and we are empowered to live according to God’s will.

Dr. Gregory also reminded us that "Ghetto is a spirit. You have to watch what you plant in your fields. God is not playing with us. You have to have balance in all things". They that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth. We don't want the spirit of Saul where we can't see ourselves.

Be Patient, Cultivate Your Faith

"A sycamore tree produces a fig that is punctured in order to become sweet. Embrace the puncture. God is making you sweeter. Fix us, Jesus, though he slay me yet will I trust Him" These words rang through the sanctuary as Pastor admonished us that the best apologies to your family and friends is changed behavior.

Jesus’ invitation to drink from the living water is for all of us. (John 6:43 and John 7:37) It's an open call to be renewed, and to walk in the abundance of life that He promises. So, let us draw near to Him, embrace the Spirit, and allow the living water to flow through every part of our lives.
