From Seed to Harvest

If You Plant Right, It Doesn't Take Long to Grow

Life is a journey filled with moments of planting and harvesting. The seeds we plant today—whether they’re seeds of faith, kindness, or discipline—determine the future we’ll reap. Dr. GreGory’s recent sermon reminded us of the power in planting the right seeds.

We often find ourselves caught in a cycle of waiting for change or growth, but as Pastor reminded us, “When you plant right, it won’t take long for it to grow.” He shared a personal story to illustrate the importance of intentional planting, using a simple request for a green wallet as a symbol of prosperity. Pastor saw the green wallet as a reminder of growth and abundance, trusting that it would represent God’s provision in his life and the lives of God's people.

What followed was a powerful testimony: members of Hope Assembly began coming forward, one by one, gifting Dr. GreGory with money. It was a beautiful moment that showed us just how quickly God can bring our desires to fruition when we plant with the right heart and pure intentions.

Faith Beyond the Visible

One of the most striking points from the sermon was the reminder that we don’t always see the rain or feel the wind, but God is still working. Drawing from 2 Kings 3, Pastor explained how God instructed Elisha to tell the people to dig trenches, even though they wouldn’t see a storm. Yet, those trenches would be filled with water as a miracle from God. The lesson here is that we must do our part—digging those trenches in faith, even when the outcome isn’t visible. God will bring the increase when we trust and act according to His word.

Guarding Your Spiritual Ground

Another powerful lesson was about the importance of guarding what we’ve planted. Just as a farmer protects their crops from pests and weeds, we too must protect our spiritual lives from distractions and negativity.

The enemy’s tactics are often disguised as innocent thoughts or situations, but they have the potential to pull us away from our purpose. It’s crucial to stay vigilant and discern what’s of God and what’s a distraction. As the pastor reminded us, sometimes people in our lives may not be planting the right seeds, and we must be careful about who we allow to influence our growth.

Expect the Harvest

As the sermon drew to a close, Dr. GreGory’s words were a call to action: “Get ready, get ready, get ready!” He encouraged us to prepare for the overflow, the increase, and the abundance that God has in store when we plant the right seeds. He reminded us that God's desire is for us to prosper in every way—spiritually, physically, and financially. But it all starts with what we’re sowing today.
