A Sunday Surprise: How Prayer Transformed Our Service

In a surprising turn of events, a planned communion service at our church was transformed into a powerful gathering focused on prayer. Guided by the Holy Spirit, Dr. GreGory felt a strong calling to shift our focus to seeking God's intervention in our lives. He called upon us to write our next victories in prayer, asking God to make the darkness light and bring down the high places in our lives.

Pastor spoke profoundly about living in the present and being attentive to God's timing with the statement "God pointed me to nowness". He taught of the importance of being present and responsive to God's direction. He shared a personal story of encountering the editor at large of Vogue, illustrating how God's perfect timing led to a significant yet delayed connection that was not merely coincidental.

Dr. GreGory shared a personal story of a time when his career was soaring, and God showed him he could achieve the highest levels of success. Yet, in his spirit he constantly cultivate a yes to "Where God leads, he will follow." He emphasized that true obedience means aligning our desires with God's will, even when it means turning away from our own ambitions.

Pastor also reminded us again of the biblical story of Jonah and the whale, challenging us to examine our lives for anything that might be leading us astray. Just as Jonah's disobedience caused a storm, so too can our own choices create turbulence in our spiritual journeys. He encouraged us to discern and remove these obstacles, allowing for a clearer course toward God's purpose.

A central theme of Dr. GreGory's guidance was the importance of being satisfied with the portion God provides us. He shared how despite the allure of worldly success, he learned to find contentment and fulfillment in God's plan for his life. We might have a path we want to take, but we have to always remember and be submissive to God. Not my will, but God's will be done," Pastor concluded.

Sunday's encounter with God reminded us to live in the present, follow God's guidance, cultivate obedience, and be content with the blessings God provides.
