Clayton:
I never went to church in my life. It was just something we did not do in our family. I was the discus champion for the state of CA, and grew up trying to please my dad which seemed impossible. After I graduated from High school during one year I lost many loved ones and my job. I began to drink and use drugs and finally ended up homeless and addicted to crack cocaine. When I came to Charleston, I had been homeless for 4 years. I heard about a party called a Convoy of Hope and on October 18, 2003, I received Christ there. I asked for prayer for my addiction and when they prayed for me, I felt a warmth and tingling I never felt before. That was the last day I used drugs. Since then, God has provided me with a job and an apartment. I began to tithe and give to missions and within a few months I had 3- $1 an hour raises. God miraculously gave me my driver’s license back and my boss gave me a car. Now I am the Men's House Director. PRAISE GOD!
Greetings, my name is Tanika Jones. I am 22 years old and originally from
Orangeburg , S.C. I gave my heart and life to the Lord at the age of 14 . At the age of 18 I was accepted and entered
the Carolina Master's Commission in Sumter, S.C. During my three years as a student and one year on staff at CMC the Lord
brought me to Charleston, S.C. to help and minister in the children's ministry with the Convoy of Hope and the Thanksgiving
and Easter outreaches at Hope Assembly. In June of 2007 I was blessed with the opportunity to intern at Hope Assembly.
Having completed my intership I am now currently fulltime staff as the youth minister and soon to be the director of the Holy
City Master's Commission.
Fredrica: In 1998, I did not have anything for my children for Christmas. I came to Hope to receive free Christmas stockings.
Pastor Gordon and Jay kept knocking on my door inviting me to church. I was glad someone cared for my soul. Since I began
coming, God has changed my life. I used to hear voices, but God healed me. He made me more confident and outgoing and gave
me peace while taking fear out of my life. I got married at Hope in 2001. God helped my children in school and one is at SC
State. I am now the head hostess at Hope!
We would like to take this opportunity to introduce the pastor and key staff members
of Hope Assembly of God.
